Starlight Productions Limited has cited opportunities for strengthening the development of the country by way of its athletic prowess as key to its partnership with the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA).
“Sport is an integral part of the cultural backbone of Jamaica and our partnership with the Jamaica Olympic Association allows us to reach into the heart of Jamaica and further expand our contribution,” said Arjune 'OJ' Bewley, owner and principal director, Starlight Productions.
The company recently signed a four-year, $20-million deal with the JOA, which makes it the exclusive partner for all marketing and promotional activities for the island's parent body for sports. These include activities such as Olympic Day, Olympic Mingles, Press Conferences, Olympic Order, plus other events where the JOA serves as title sponsor to its members.
Starlight, who will also provide 10 per cent discounted rates to JOA member associations, will be the JOA's main partner for the Olympic Manor execution, set for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan and the Commonwealth Manor in Birmingham in 2022.
“In our journey to realising our goals we have not lost sight of our corporate social responsibilities. We have, over the years and continue to eagerly participate in numerous charity events spanning all 14 parishes of our island — Relay for Life (St Mary, St Ann, Kingston), Sigma Run, Colour Me Happy, Hope in the Hills, Powerful Men & Women in Concert and Shaggy & Friends to name a few,” Bewley disclosed.
“We have the opportunity to support talented athletes from across Jamaica in competing on an Olympic world stage. Corporate Social Responsibility, in our estimation, on a wider scale involves contributions to the development of our nation and more specifically our youth,” he added of the family-owned business.
Bewley noted that much of their success lies in the fact that they are powered by a dedicated staff, some of whom have been with the company for over six years, plus new members who are able to adopt the same enthusiasm, contributing new dimensions towards its growth.
The JOA had listed Starlight's ability to deliver productions equivalent to what persists on a global scale and Bewley concurred, referring to the standards that will raise the Olympic body's event profile.
He said: “We strive to maintain our focus on delivering the best possible service to our individual clients in a greater effort to achieve high standards of service and deliveries in the entertainment industry. With that said, we also aim to maintain affordable pricing for which we are known, while simultaneously exceeding client expectations.
“There is no greater reward than participating in projects such as those run by the JOA, projects that provide tremendous exposure of Jamaica to the world, facilitate development of our citizens and truly represent us as a nation and our spirit,” said Bewley.
